London Bridge Inspired by Japanese Fan
Bridge design specialists Knight Architects have announced that their Japanese-inspired hydraulic footbridge in Paddington, London, has been approved to go ahead. The Merchant Square Bridge is inspired by traditional Japanese fans, raising and lowering in a unique segmented fashion which the architects say make it more like a “kinetic sculpture”.
